Mrs. Schwailik's Earth Day Activities
This is always a special time of year when the beauty of life is evident!

When you look at the calendar of events, you may notice that we are starting 8th grade PARCC a day late. This is because the PARCC website was down this week. The website outage impacted almost all New Jersey School Districts.

This week we are looking forward to Take Your Child to Work Day. Some of our staff will be bringing their children to Lakeside. Student who participate in this event must get a note from their parent's place of work.

Lakeside Lightning,

Lakeside is an Opportunity, not an Obligation

1,200 students entering the Assembly.
"Lakeside is an Opportunity, not an Obligation"
We had another awesome week at Lakeside. It seems that the Spring Break was kind to the students, teachers and administrators. In many ways, we were able to get right back into the swing of things.

On the other hand, everyone is taking notice that there are small changes happening. Hallways have become a little quieter. More kids are walking on the right side of the hallway. More kids are getting to Homeroom on time and watching the announcements! There were less discipline referrals this week than before break.

We have more work to do and we will continue to reward those students who are being safe, responsible and respectful. Thank you to everyone who is working to make Lakeside the premier school in the world!

How about this? Look at how the Lightning Round is growing!
  • 2,201 page views!
  • Top referring sites/URLs - Facebook
  • Pageviews by Browser - 42% are using Chrome
  • Pageviews by Operating System - 37% are using iPhones
  • We have been visited by 10 different countries
  • Most popular post has always been the most recent (So that means we are growing every week)

Different Not Less!
April is Autism Awareness Month

Our staff is super excited about this opportunity to change the perception of autism!

The theme for the month is "Different Not Less."

We are also excited about the T-shirts the staff will be wearing every Friday.

Our previous record was 80 shirts sold... This year we sold 125! How amazing is that?

Security Aides are taking steps in the right direction
Lakeside is by far the largest school in the district. Teachers and students get a lot of steps in during the day by walking around. Did you know our security aides walk between 5 and 7 miles per day? How many steps do you walk?

Lakeside Library announces the Hunger Game series as the winner of the March Madness - Battle of the Book Series.
During the month of March, the students have been voting from 16 series to select their top pick for favorite book series. Thanks to all the Language Arts classes that participated.
