Bussing

The Transportation Department will be mailing bus passes to homes during the week before school opens.  These should tell you where your child should wait for the bus and at what time he/she should be there. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Sheppard 856-293-2051

Back to School Paperwork

On the first day of school, your children will be bringing home with them a packet of important information.  This set of paperwork will be drastically decreased as many of our forms are online. We want to make sure that everyone has the appropriate cost for lunch. It is necessary to return all Free and Reduced Lunch Forms.

Please visit our website (http://lakeside.millville.org). We would appreciate it if you would read this information carefully and return any necessary paperwork to us as soon as possible.  We also ask that during the school year you notify us immediately of any changes of address or telephone numbers, including those of people listed as your emergency contacts.  For your child’s health and safety, we must be able to reach someone if an emergency arises.

Immunizations

In New Jersey, students who are 11 years of age and entering 6th grade are required to receive additional immunizations to protect against whooping cough and meningitis. Your child MUST be fully immunized or have a valid medical or religious exemption in order to start 6th grade on September 7th. Students who turn 11 after the first day of school have 14 days from their birthday to comply with this requirement.  If your child does not have health insurance, either of these two agencies may be able to help:

  • CompleteCare Health Network: 856-451-4700

  • Shots for Tots: 856-327-7602 (ext 7137)

Contact our Nurse at 856-2943-3370 if you have questions or need more information.

Back to School Night

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 21 at 6:00 PM for our Back-to-School Night. We hope to see all of you that evening as you will have the opportunity to visit with your child’s teachers.

First Day of School

We look forward to seeing your child on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Lakeside Lightning Round - August 9 - 13, 2021

Ma'Syiah Brawner, 8th Grader at LMS
Lakeside Lightning,

Grow through what you go through!

We have a lot of exciting things going on this summer at Lakeside Middle School and the winning continues on! Recently, Ma'Syiah Brawner, rising 8th grader competed in the Pentathlon and was featured in a Daily Journal Article. Be sure to check out the story on this wonderful Lakeside Lightning standout!

We just finished our Summer Program on August 5. We had 113 students successfully complete the program that was based in Math and LAL along with project based learning. Thank you to the staff and to Mrs. Oquendo for coordinating.

Our vestibule is getting a much needed make over. Over the summer, we are installing a double entry doorway with a security window. This safety and security measure is also coming along with updated cameras inside and outside of the school. We are very grateful that the district is supporting this effort!

In the most recent issue of the NEA Today, Lakeside Staff and Students are featured in the article "Back to School Like No Other." Mr. Rankin. Mrs. Vanrner and Ms. Eppright were interviewed along with student A'yonna Costin. Be sure to check out the article!

New Student Orientation - August 25, 2021 (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM)

This "New Student Orientation" will be available for any 6, 7 or 8th grade student who is new to Lakeside. So, if your child was out on Virtual and has never toured or visited Lakeside, you are going to want to attend this event.
