Lakeside Lightning,

Snowy Courtyard
The World Is Yours Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities

We had another productive week at Lakeside Middle School! Our 7th graders participated in the NJ CAP program's 3 day Anti Bullying Program. Students learned about the problems associated with bullying as well as the various types of bullying. They participated in discussions and hands-on activities designed to make them safer and smarter about the issues surrounding bullying. The presentations will conclude this week. On Wednesday, the NJCAP program will present to our staff at the monthly meeting.

This week the 8th grade AVID students will be going on a field trip to the Holocaust Museum. In addition, the 8th grade students will have their first dance of the year on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM!

Be on the lookout for our new You Tube Channel! We have recently updated a few things with our TV Studio and connected it with You Tube. Shortly, we will be posting our daily announcements as well as school events on the You Tube Channel. This will assist us in the future as we can record school events so that everyone can see the awesomeness of LMS!

The new TV Studio is coming along
The Lakeside Girls Basketball team upped their record to 3 and 0 by beating Vineland and Lower Cape May this week. Lakeside was once again lead in scoring by Gabi Micheaux and Julianna Wilson. Leading the team defensively is Aaniyah Street, Leah Ellis, and Sanaa Doss. Without their lockdown defense these victories would not have been possible. Lakeside looks to keep their winning streak alive on Monday against Alder. Keep up the great work Girls!

Lakeside Wrestling practice has been changed from ending at 5:30pm to 5:00pm today. Again, the end time of wrestling practice today is at 5pm. Any questions see Coach Williams in M101.

Attention all AVA club members. We will have our next meeting on Friday Feb 1 after school.

Today at 2 p.m. is the DASH FOR CASH for students who sold 10 items or more in the fall fundraiser. If that sounds like you, then you should have received a pass to come down today. Listen for the all call before reporting to the cafeteria.

Tickets are now on sale for Lakeside Family Friendly Night at the Philadelphia 76’ers Game (76ers vs. Charlotte Hornets) on Monday, March 19th. Bus leaves Lakeside at 5 and returns at 10:30. Tickets are $25 cash (only-no checks accepted) per person and food will be provided at 4:00 p.m. at Lakeside before the game. Permission slips are available in the main office. Permission slips can be returned to Mrs. Benfer in the main office.

Thank you and the joke of the week is: What did the yoga instructor say when the landlord tried to evict her? Namaste. Have a peaceful Week!
