Student Council Trip to Great Adventure!
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect At Lakeside Middle School

You might have seen a different theme at the top of the post. We selected a new theme for 2018-19 school year. This theme is very special to us because as we examine all of the positive things and things that we need to improve the concept of respect keeps coming up. Next year we are going to talk a lot about respect!

This week our Board of Education celebrated the retirements throughout the district. Lakeside Middle School had two retirees attend the event. Mrs. Cirocco and Mrs. Corson were honored for their years of dedicated service to the students at Lakeside Middle School. Both Mrs. Cirocco and Mrs. Corson taught hundreds of students throughout their career. We are truly grateful for their contributions! At our final staff meeting of the year we will honor all of the retirees at Lakeside Middle School.

In addition, this week a few of our students had the opportunity to attend field trips. The Student Council went to Six Flags as a reward for their hard work and determination in making Lakeside Middle School better! The 8th grade AVID students visited the Magical Gardens in Philadelphia. The students are researching mosaics for an upcoming project at Lakeside.

Our week was capped off with an EPIC Lip Sync Battle. This year we had food trucks for the students and parents to enjoy. We raffled off over 15 baskets and with the entry fee totally 2,400 dollars raised for the PTO. This money will help off set activities for students and provides for the Staff Appreciation Luncheon. We are so grateful for all that attended and supported this epic event.

Good luck to all of the students this week as they take their FINALS. Here is the Finals Schedule:
Monday - LAL
Tuesday - Science/Social Studies
Wednesday - Science/Social Studies
Thursday - Math
Friday - Electives/Encore/PE
