January 28 - February 1, 2019

Mrs. Henry's students building Hurricane Houses
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at Lakeside!

This week is the 1/2 way part of the year. The second marking period will end on Tuesday and the 3rd marking period will begin on Thursday. Students will not have school on Wednesday for a Staff In-service.

When students come back to school on Thursday they will be attending Grade Level Assemblies to address concerns throughout the school such as cell phone policy, respect, conflict resolutions and expectations for hallways.

On Friday, our school will be hosting Stand Tall Steve, a motivational speaker who will be discussing how students can succeed in school and in life through focusing on their goals. For more information on Stand Tall Steve click this link

We hope students are ready to continue achieving, learning and being respectful as we enter the second half of the year!

Mr. Hand bringing history alive!
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

We completed our first full week of 2019! There were so many great things going on throughout the school. One of the most notable areas for our school was the Lightning Bots. The Lakeside Lightning Bots competed in their qualifier on Saturday January 12th and placed 7th overall for their robot. They received many compliments from the judges on their project, but most importantly their core values. We are so proud of Max, Oliver, Jayvin, Riley, Chet, Logan, Joshua, Lorenzo, and Tadden for all of their hard work this season! Thank you to Mrs. Salvati and Ms. Carroll for their hard work as the Lightning Bots advisors.

The first 2019 PTO meeting is being held this Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Lakeside Art Room. Enter through the art room ramp on the Genesis side of the building near bus lot A. If you'd like to be included on the agenda, contact Mrs. Salvati by Tuesday evening via email.
See you there!

Daily Announcements

One mans trash is another mans treasure. The 8th grade science department is in need of your empty cereal boxes. Please drop them off to Mr. Fry, Mrs. Sparks, or Mrs. Henry during homeroom.

Thank you and our joke for the week is: What is the difference between weather and climate? You can't weather a tree, but you can climate. Have a tree-mendous week.
