It's All About Respect at LMS!

Happy New Year from the staff at Lakeside Middle School. We hope that you enjoyed the Winter Break. It was very much needed for the staff and the students.

Prior to the Winter Break we had a bunch of very amazing activities at Lakeside. On Monday, December 17, 2018 our AVID team hosted the Holistic Life Foundation. The Holistic Life Foundation is a Baltimore-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to nurturing the wellness of children and adults in underserved communities. Through a comprehensive approach which helps children develop their inner lives through yoga, mindfulness, and self-care HLF demonstrates deep commitment to learning, community, and stewardship of the environment. HLF is also committed to developing high-quality evidence based programs and curriculum to improve community well-being.

On Wednesday, our staff took some time to work collaborative as well as have a relaxed staff meeting. This effort was coordinated by our teachers and it was a huge success!

On Thursday, December 20, 2018 Lakeside Middle School hosted the second annual STEM Day. The purpose of the STEM Day is to expose students to the various programs offered at Millville High School. Big thanks to Mr. Barber for coordinating the event! Be sure to check out the SNJ article and video (click here).

On Friday, December 21, 2018 our PBSIS committee raised 334 dollars for Pajama Day. Since it was 1 dollar to participate we had about 1/3 of our students wear their pajamas! They also hosted the Bagels and Board Games as a reward to those students who continue to earn Zaps for being safe, respectful, responsible and good learners.

Lakeside In The News - 6th Grade students send Get Well Cards to Veteran
The 6th grade Social Studies Department hosts the annual Veterans Day Assembly. They heard that one of the honorees, Dotty Cullen, broke her leg so they had the students make Get Well Cards for her. Here is the article that was featured in the Daily Journal (click here).
