It's All About Respect at LMS!
Last week Lakeside Middle School spread the love by wearing red on Friday for heart health. Staff and students wore red and supported the lifesaving work being done by the American Heart Association.
This week is a little different celebration of hearts in a different way... Valentines Day! Be sure to get your candy grams that are on sale.
Just a reminder that there is No School on Friday, February, 14, 2020 for Staff Professional Development Day. There is no School on Monday, February 17, 2020 for Presidents Day.
Black History Month
We are also celebrating Black History Month. Each day on the announcements we share an interesting fact or innovation attributed to an African American. There are also class activities and projects that students are working on throughout the day. Check out this Black History Month video by elementary and Middle School Students:

Our Black History Month fact today is Minnie Jocelyn Lee Elders was the first African American, and the second woman, to serve as the United States Surgeon General.
Any 8th grade student interested in Fall Cheer for the 2020 season? Tryouts will start at Senior High March 2nd at 3:30 pm in the senior high gym! Additional information will be left in the main office.
The National Junior Honor Society is now accepting applications for new members. Any current 7th or 8th grade student who has maintained an 85 or above average in all subject areas for six consecutive marking periods is eligible to receive an application. Please note the following important information:
*** Applications must be filled out entirely. All sections must be completed for membership consideration. If you have any questions about the applications, please see Mrs. Gaudio in Y133 prior to the application deadline.
*** In addition to the application, students are required to submit one letter of recommendation from a non-family member, as well as a personal essay detailing why you should be selected for membership.
*** The application deadline is February 17, 2020
