September 25 - 29, 2017

Lakeside Lightning,

The World Is Yours: Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities

Mrs. Morgan's wall became a library!
We had another amazing week at Lakeside. Students and teachers are continuing to establish a very academic culture at the school. The administrators began "walking through" the school this week to see the learning in action, and we were not disappointed!

One of the most interesting walk through this week came in Mrs. Holmes's 8th grade Language Arts class. The students were comparing and contrasting the characters in the novel they are reading. The discussion and classroom climate was very impressive!

Last week we also had our first Fire Drill of the year. We just beat the rain on Tuesday with the drill. Look out for a security drill sometime this week!

This week we are excited for our Back to School Night. On Tuesday, September 26, parents and guardians are invited to the Auditorium for the beginning of a special evening. After the introduction, parents will be sent to their child's homeroom where they will get their schedule. Then, after homeroom, they will be able to go through the schedule. Make sure you are on time and stay to the right as you go through the school :)
