Stand Stall Steve with Dr. Cook |
It's All About Respect at LMS!
We had great week at LMS! We finished our first month of the new year with the end of the marking period and a new commitment to our theme and our school.
The culminating event of the week was motivational speaker Stand Tall Steve. Throughout the day on Friday, Stand Stall Steve inspired each grade level with his positive message about Standing Tall for what you believe in, respecting others, and being prepared for school! The teachers and students had a great time and already some teachers have said he was one of the best speakers we ever had at Lakeside!
Here is a video we made from the 3 Assemblies with Stand Tall Steve

This week we are encouraging students to reflect on Stand Tall Steve's message in their Advisory classes. We also have activities planned each day to help students with respect, conflict resolution and establishing new goals for themselves!
We are also very excited that this month is Black History Month. Each day we will have special informational messages for students about the contributions of African Americans to our society. Stay tuned for more activities to come throughout the month.

Yearbook pictures needed!! Mrs. Sooy is looking for pictures for the yearbook....she needs snapchat filter pictures, pics with friends, and twin pictures too! Also, she is trying something new with a "then and now" picture. Make a pic collage of you and a friend using a picture from when you were younger and a picture from now. Upload all pictures to hjeshare.com and use code Lakeside19. She needs these pictures ASAP. And 6th and 7th graders, she needs more pictures from you!! See Mrs. Sooy in M133 with any questions.
Thank you and our joke for the week is: Why shouldn't you fall in love with a pastry chef? He'll dessert you. Have a sweet week!
