November 4 - November 8, 2019

8th grade Girls Field Hockey's last game as a Jr. Bolt
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

We had another amazing week at Lakeside Middle School that was capped with a new event (and partnership with the High School). On Saturday November 2nd, students from Lakeside, Memorial, and Senior High joined forces to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network for Extra Life. By playing video games, students raised over $1200 for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Buffalo Wild Wings, Jim Mains, Gorgo, Dietz & Watson and Chick Fil A all generously donated food and more for the day long event. Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Clarke and Mrs. Colacurcio for coming by and helping out. Organized by Ms. Finney, Mr. Righter, Mr. Procopio, and Mrs. Salvati, the event was a huge success and they want to thank everyone who donated.

This week is a shortened week due to the NJEA Convention. There will be no school for students on Thursday, November 7 and Friday, November 8.

Parents - We need your feedback. Please follow this link (click here) or use the icon on the side of the blog.

Mindfulness Room Coming soon to 6th graders - We will be opening up a Mindfulness Room very soon. The room will be avaiable to 6th graders on a limited basis. The room will be facilitated by Ms. Eppright and Mrs. Mueller, our Social Workers.

Lakeside selcted to participate in Statewide Survey - We will get awarded as well!
Lakeside Middle School has been selected to participate in the 2019-2020 New Jersey Middle School Risk and Protective Factor Survey (NJRPFS) being conducted by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).

The CREEHS staff will be here for a consenting visit on November 5, 2019, during the 1st period to briefly discuss the survey process and incentive for participating with each of the selected classes. The visit should take only 5-10 minutes. The classes were randomly selected in grades 7 and 8.

The survey will be administered by CREEHS staff on November 21, 2019, during the 1st period and will take about 35 minutes. The survey will be administered in the classroom and is a paper/pencil format.

Mrs. Hickman and Mrs. Peterson's students did a card sort activity to help them recognize and represent proportional relationships between quantities. They also did an interactive activity using graphs to compare proportional relationships using chromebooks that ended up being student led by Desmond.
