Lakeside Lighting,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

T'was the week before Winter Break and all throughout the school the teachers were still teaching and the students were still learning!

Thank  you to everyone who attended our Winter Concerts. The 6th graders really stepped it up as it was their first performance together as a team. The 7th and 8th graders wowed the crowd with their vocal and musical abilities. It was very clear that the students have put in a lot of time and effort. Thank you to Ms. Andrews and Mrs. Biaselli for their dedication to the music program at LMS!

We all survived the Full Moon, Friday the 13th and the fact that Winter Break is approaching. Our students and staff continue to remain focused on learning. There are so many activities going on throughout the school. We believe in keeping the routines going despite any changes in weather or with a break approaching. This week will be no different!

LMS Walkers
Over the course of the past month we have seen a drastic improvement with the walkers. When asked about this, Dr. Cook said, "I want to acknowledge Mr. Jimenez, Mr. Godfrey, Ms. Gaunt and Mr. Procopio for walking with the students and following up on concerns. The students have done a fantastic job of cooperating with our improvement. In addition, Dr. Schneider, our Superintendent, has visited Sharp Street to help monitor and support. She worked with the Millville Police Department to enlist the help of an officer as well."

Parents
Reminder that this Friday is an Early Dismissal. We now serve lunches on Early Dismissal days but we do not serve breakfast.

Earlier last week we sent a notification about a prank website "Channel 45." We encourage you to talk with your children about their Cell Phone usage. In addition, we are planning a few events in the new year to continue to help students and parents with managing and understanding Cell Phones. Stay tuned for more details.

Winter Break - December 21 - January 1 - Classes resume January 2, 2020.

Judge Malestein
Judge Malestein Cumberland County Superior Court. Courtroom to classroom program
Our advanced 8th grade Social Studies students were treated to a very special guest. Judge Malestein talked with our kids about careers in law, and reviewed interesting aspects about our judicial system. He was very engaging and the students enjoyed his presentation. Thank you Judge Malestein!

PBSIS Buddy Lunch was a success
The PBSIS committee redesigned an office near the cafeteria for the new PBSIS lounge. We held our first monthly buddy lunch on December 13th  in the new PBSIS lounge. Dr. Cook took time to spend with the students while they were in the lounge. Students enjoyed lunch and time to hang out with their friends for your lunch period and advisory.  Cost was 15 ZAPs.  Stay tuned in January for the next one! Don't miss out!
