Thanks for taking the Survey
Parents and Students, thank you for your participation in our LMS survey on Remote Learning.  Due to the responses, we have made some additions and adjustments to our policy.  Changes can be found on the parent remote learning guide and will be highlighted in blue this week. Changes include an updated participation rubric, clarification on missing work, and specific teacher requirements for virtual meetings. The link to our policy guide can be found on the Lakeside blog. Thank you for helping us with our remote learning policy!

Staff Appreciation Week - May 4 - 8, 2020
Finally, this week is Staff Appreciation Week at Lakeside. We normally do activities each day and an amazing luncheon sponsored by our PTO. Since we can not be together in person, we will be making a video appreciation. Please email with any pictures, videos or messages for our teachers to spike.cook@millville.org. I need this by Thursday May, 7 so Dr. Cook can publish a video for our staff.

Art in the Great Outdoors of Millville
"We explored a place in Millville called Silica. It's where they used to dig out special sand for the glass plants in Millville. In the big ponds there is a lot of clay. We got the clay and I made pots. " Drew Finch, 6th grade.

Nurses Corner
By now everyone is practicing social distancing to keep themselves and others healthy. Social distancing can lead to depression and feelings of isolation, especially if you can’t spend time with your family members or friends. If you have feelings of sadness, depression or isolation you’re not alone and it can even be a natural and normal feeling. Below is a list of things that we can all do to keep mentally and socially healthy.
  • Eating 3 well balanced meals a day, getting at least 8-10 hours of sleep each night, getting plenty of fresh air and exercise, and staying hydrated are all important for overall health.
  • Connect with friends and family members via phone, FaceTime or arrange a Zoom meeting with classmates, or grandparents
  • The YMCA has a variety of resources for FREE online including Tai Chi, Barre, Youth Sports Performance and Weightlifting!

Winners of the Week - Some of  our Lakeside Staff  throughout the year. Please send pictures and messages for our video!
