May 27 - 31, 2019

Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

We had a 3 day weekend for the unofficial beginning of summer but the purpose of the holiday was to observe Memorial Day. We celebrate Memorial Day for those who died in active military service. Around the community and the country, Americans remembered those who sacrificed their lives for our country. We hope that each of you took time to remember!

This week we begin to see an increase in the "end of the year" activities. We will publish these events weekly in the blog. We appreciate your support as we begin to wind down the year. There are so many things we want to accomplish prior to the end of the year.

NJHS students helping at the Luncheon
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

We celebrated Staff Appreciation Week last week! Each day there was something for the staff whether they learned about mindfulness or played backyard games to the Luncheon there was something for everyone. Throughout the week, students wrote thank you cards and messages that were either put into their mailboxes or displayed in the DMC. The entire week was sponsored by the PTO and organized by the administration. It was a team effort on all sides! Thank you staff for all that you do!

We need to continue with Staff Appreciation each day and week that we are here. We always need supportive parents, respectful students and incentives for our staff who work so hard to make LMS better. Please continue to show your gratitude and to support our staff and our school!

This week we will be distributing the 4th marking period progress reports. Students and parents can always check the Infinite Campus portal to receive updated information. If you want to set up your account you need to click here.

Schola Canturum at the Multicultural Event
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect At LMS!

This week is the National Teacher Appreciation Week. Since we are administering the NJSLA we are pushing our celebration to next week. We are grateful that the PTO has donated money to ensure our staff feels appreciated!

Last week our Schola Canturum Choir students performed at the Muticultural Week culminating event on Friday. The students did an amazing job with their performance and the crowd loved them! Later on that evening our 8th grade staff held an outdoor movie for parents, students and guests. Everyone who attended enjoyed the movie Into The Spiderverse along with amazing weather for the event. Thank you to everyone who attended!

We are rooting for the 7th and 8th graders this week as they take the NJSLA! The results of the NJSLA determine how our school is rated. We hope that the students do their best and make us proud!
