In the case of  inclement weather during Virtual Learning, we will follow this schedule - Click here

Black History Month
Black history and culture is an integral part of the American history. It was originally established in the 1920s by Carter G. Woodson. February was chosen for the celebration of Black History Month because Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln were born in the month. It was extended to a month-long celebration in 1976, and has been celebrated by millions of school children. At Lakeside, we will have activities in the classrooms and on the announcements to raise awareness for this amazing month!

School Pictures
Have you ever heard the saying, "Take a picture it will last longer." Well we do not want to miss our deadline for the yearbook so we have schedule two picture days through Basetti Photography. The pictures will be taken in the Lakeside Main Gym on February 3 and 4. We will also schedule make ups based on our turnout. All information for signing up can be found on this link. (Click here for school picture link).

Lakeside Lightning Round - January 18 - 22, 2021

Lakeside Lighting,

The School of Tomorrow, Today!

This week we celebrate the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His leadership has inspired millions of people and will continue through his writings and speeches. Dr. King was a visionary leader and through his "I Have a Dream Speech" he envisioned a world where we would be better off as a people.

He was so dedicated to this vision that he was willing to continue sharing it despite others telling him that he was in danger. Although Dr. King is celebrated today, he was not embraced when he was doing his work for Civil Rights in the 1960s. Many people were outraged by his message. Despite the backlash, Dr. King remained committed to his vision and thankfully his words and speeches are available for future generations to learn about.

Please take a few moments to watch Kid President talk about Dr. King's legacy and think about what you are doing to achieve your dreams for your life.

Lakeside Lightning Round - January 11 - 15, 2021

Students in STEM made these carboard organizers

Lakeside Lightning,

The School of Tomorrow, Today!

From Superintendent Trongone:

"After consultation, collaboration, and review of data with the county Office of Education, county superintendents, and the county Department of Health, Millville Public Schools has made the difficult decision to extend the full remote instruction model to a tentative date of February 16.  Our priority has been, and will continue to be, the health and safety of our staff, students, and families.  It is with this priority that we have arrived at this decision.

Grab N' Go meal distribution will continue on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00am - 5:00pm at Memorial, Lakeside, Child Family Center, Bacon, Holly Heights, Mount Pleasant, and Silver Run. Due to construction, Senior High distribution site will be closed until further notice.

Thank you for your continued cooperation during this unprecedented pandemic.  We are hopeful we will soon see some relief from this relentless virus and are able to resume in-person learning on February 16."
