Welcome to Lakeside at the New Student Orientation
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

Can you believe the time is here? We are ready to start the 2019-20 school year at Lakeside! One of the most exciting things about this year is that we are celebrating our 20th year. Throughout the year we will have a few events to mark this special occasion. In addition, Lakeside's first Principal, Dr. Schneider, is currently our Interim Superintendent which makes this extra special.

We hosted our newly redesigned New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. This year was a record breaker in that we had over 200 students attend! Each new student received their schedule, locker and an opportunity to learn more about the school. We appreciate all who attended and we look forward to a great year!

Non Negotiables at LMS
As we start the year off, all staff will read the following script at the beginning of class to set the stage for learning,
"In this class, I expect that you will follow our non-negotiables. We do not use cell phones, we respect each other, we are dressed appropriately, and we do not use profanity. Remember, when we walk in the halls at Lakeside, we stay to the right and we keep our hands and feet to ourselves.

Our Non Negotiables are as follows:
  1. Cell Phones - Must be off and in lockers while in LMS
  2. Profanity - Both indirect and direct profanity will not be tolerated
  3. Disrespect - Students will demonstrate respect towards others, staff, and school environment at all times
  4. Back and Forth - Students will accept the response of the staff member without negotiation
  5. School Dress Code - Students will be dressed appropriately at all times
  6. Hallways - Students will walk to the right, keep their hands and feet to themselves, keep voices down, and walk at all times

Winners of the Week
This week's winner of the blog is the the summer custodial crew. They worked tirelessly to get our school into an amazing condition for school to start. In addition, they had one of the toughest schedules in that our school hosts all of the district camps and summer program as well as the Active Shooter Drill. Thanks again to summer crew for all of their hard work.
Our hallways are looking great!
