Lines wrapped around the building for Haunted Hallways
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Haunted Halls event on Thursday! Our staff and students did a wonderful job of hosting this event designed to allow community members to Trick or Treat and get scared a little in the haunted section! We hosted close to 500 visitors!

Our Early Dismissal on Friday was time well spent. Teachers were able to spend time in their Professional Learning Communities focused on increased student achievement. We appreciate parents taking the kids a little early on Friday so we could collaborate and increase our learning.

Students walking home
We teach the students at LMS that "Your Image is Our Image." We tell them to walk on the sidewalks and obey the traffic laws. Over the years we have increased our Security and Crossing Guards on Sharp and Harrison. We have worked collaboratively with Millville Police to issue tickets for Jaywalking and Trespassing. Administrators have driven their personal cars to monitor students and met with residents who have had specific issues. We have and will continue to process students for discipline if they violate traffic laws on the walk home. We tell the students that their life is too precious to fool around in the street when cars could mistakenly cause harm. We take the walk home very seriously! If you see something, please let us know and we will investigate. We are always looking for volunteers from 3:15 PM - 3:30 PM each day to ensure that Sharp, Harrison and Dock streets are supervised. Please contact Dr. Cook at 856-293-2450 if you are interested in assisting.

Winner of the Week - Darian Handy returns Air Pods!
I want to nominate one of my students for the blog’s winner of the week. Yesterday when we were outside doing our #A19Challenge, Darian Handy found AirPods on the ground and he immediately brought them to me then showed me how to activate them so we could see if there was a name attached to them which there was. We were able to return them to one of Hakola’s xcountry girls. I am really proud of Darian because unfortunately many students would have just put them in their pocket, but he did the right thing. Nominated by Mrs. Sooy
