Lakeside Lightning,

Grow through what you go through!

This week we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by participating in Rock Your Socks Off. Students and staff wore all different kinds of unique socks show awareness and support for those with Down Syndrome. In the section "pictures around the school" there will be a few highlights from the day. Thank you to all who participated!

School Improvement Meetings

Last week we also had our monthly School Improvement Meeting with Staff and Lakeside families. We continue to work through the issues with this monthly committee and it provides opportunities for discussions focused on improving Lakeside. Dr. Cook, Principal of Lakeside said this, "I am very impressed with the parents and staff members who continue to give up time with their families each month to discuss Lakeside and how we can celebrate the victories and address areas of concern." There are three more scheduled this year. For more information, check out the agenda with the notes linked in as well. Click here.

Parent/Teacher Organization to Resume

In the most recent School Messenger, Dr. Cook sent out information for parents and guardians to join the PTO. We will have monthly meetings for the reminder of the school year focusing on re-establishing this essential group. Sign up here to get on this committee

Lakeside Lightning Round - March 14 - 18, 2022

Lakeside Lightning,

Grow through what you go through!

This week we look to continue with our expectations and norms created to keep all students safe and secure. At Lakeside we walk to the right, keep our hands and feet to ourselves. We keep our hoods down and our cell phones/earbuds are away in the locker. When there is an adult covering a class, we show them respect and dignity. This is our simple recipe for success at LMS and we talk with the students daily about our expectations.

Lakeside Lightning Round - March 7 - 11, 2022

Under the sea!

Lakeside Lightning,

Grow through what you go through!

The cast and crew of the Little Mermaid Jr. performed a hit on Friday and Saturday. This was the first musical in 2 years because of the pandemic. Special thanks to all of the parents, high schoolers and staff for helping out. We also want to give a HUGE shout our to Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. Morgan who directed the play.

Starting on Monday the masks are optional. Students and staff will be able to choose to whether they want to wear it.

On behalf of the administration, we want to thank the parents who pick up their children afterschool. We changed the pick up to the back of the school and it has been successful. We will continue to refine this process and over the summer we will be ordering signs and directional markings.

May is National Mental Health Awareness

Here is the link if you would like to order this shirt. We will be wearing them on Fridays in the month of May.  https://www.workplacepro.com/S-LLMH?SOSID=29373
