Ms. Devol's students learning about chemistry
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

We are finishing up our first month of the school year. On behalf of the staff at LMS, we want to thank everyone who attended our Back To School Night. Please do not let this be the last time you connect with the teachers, or visit the school. We hope that the communication continues as we progress through the school year. Family and school communication is vital for all of us to achieve our goals!

Attention Lakeside Families and Community Members
Want to make an impact on our School Improvement Process? Join Dr. Cook, our Principal, for a School Improvement Meeting designed for Lakeside families and community members. The initial meeting of the year will be Monday, October 7, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Lakeside Digital Media Center (DMC).  We will review the School Improvement Process as well as the impact of the Non Negotiables. We look forward to seeing you then!

Did you miss Back to School Night? Check out Dr. Cook's video message

The field hockey team had a 1-0 victory over Middle Township yesterday. The offense dominated throughout the game and allowed newcomer Sophia Kenelia her first goal of the season, while the defense shut down Middle's few scoring opportunities. A great game was played by all.

Guess what Lakeside?! It’s time for our annual fall fundraiser, featuring our infamous DASH FOR CASH! Starting today you will receive a packet of fundraiser information and booklets featuring Otis Spunkemeyer cookies, candy, wrapping paper, kitchen gadgets, and more! Students who sell 10 items or more are automatically entered into our winter Dash for Cash event, which features over $350 in gift cards and cash prizes. One lucky winner may even win $100 cash! Our fundraiser runs until OCTOBER 18TH, so let’s see who our biggest seller will be this year!

Lakeside Middle School JYC/Bible Club will be starting on Wednesday, October 9th in Room B126 after school until 4:15. You can pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Schwegel in B106 Grade Office or the Guidance Counselors office.

Thank you and our joke of the week is:  Where do pirates like to go to play video games?  The arrrrrcade! Have a fun week!

Parent Meeting for 6th Grade AVID
Lakeside Lightning,

It's All About Respect at LMS!

Lakeside Middle School staff and students were in Philadelphia on Saturday taping an episode of the ClassH Room. Although we can not say who won, you will not be dissapointed with our episode. In fact, you will be on the edge of your seat. Thank you to the National Junior Honor Society students for supporting this opportunity for our school to be showcased!

Back to School Night is on Tuesday. We are very excited to showcase the academic classes offered at LMS. If you would like to visit your child's Encore Classes (Art, Music, Band, Choir, Technology, Library, Gifted and Talented, STEM and AVID) please come in at 6:00 PM. At 6:30 PM all families will report to Homeroom for a video presentation from Dr. Cook, our Principal. Make sure to download the Infinite Campus App or visit the web version to get your child's schedule. We will have kiosks available in case you are having technical difficulties. Click this link for the Back to School Schedule.

Daily Announcements
Student council paperwork will be due on Monday. No excuses.  Our meeting will be Tuesday September 24th.

"See You At the Pole” will be held on Wednesday, September 25th.  All students and staff are invited to pray for our school, teachers, families and nation at the flag pole in the front of the building at 8am promptly.

Are you interested in joining an after school club where you can get your homework done AND participate in activities such as BMX bike building, STEM and art? If so, get a registration packet from the main office and return it to the office as soon as possible. Spots are limited.

Do you want to cheer? The Lakeside Cheerleading season will be starting soon. There are limited spots and everyone must have a current physical to participate. Grab a physical from the front office or from Mrs. Stroup in G210 during homeroom. Have it completed by your doctor and hand it in to the nurse as soon as possible.

All applications are due today for the LightningBOTS Vex Robotics team. We only have a few spots available on our team and late packets will not be accepted. Drop off your application to Ms. Carrol in Y124 or Mrs. Salvati in M102 and today for a chance to be on the team!

Any students interested in joining Art Club, see Ms. Bellucci in the Art Room or in B136 during Homeroom. Art Club will meet on Tuesdays throughout the school year

Reminder to all students attending tonight's football game: All students in 8th grade and below must be accompanied by an adult. Please remember that students are not to congregate or loiter during and after the game. Security and police have been instructed to have people move to the bleachers. Students who are disruptive in any way, including running, will be removed from the game and are subject to school discipline as this is a school sponsored event. Bags, food, and drinks are prohibited from being brought into the stadium. At the end of the third quarter the gates will be locked and no one will be permitted to enter the game.

Thank you and our joke of the week is: What is the guidance counselors favorite way to travel? On a mentor-ship. Have a fantastic week!
