Lakeside Lightning

Mrs. Sooy took advantage of the warm temperatures this week!
Turning Dreams Into Reality

We are in full swing at Lakeside Middle School in 2017. Now we have had a few weeks under our belt, it is clear to see that we are moving closer to turning dreams into reality! We are excited to see our winter sports in action as well as all of the new clubs and opportunities for students! 2017 is going to be our year!!!!

Our School Leadership Committee (SLC/ScIP) met this week. We were charged with looking at new teacher evaluation models for possible consideration for next year. The leaders of the school discussed the pros and cons of the 4 models and eventually recommended the top two to the district. Our discussion was very focused on teaching and learning. We are always operating on one non-negotiable... what is best for students!

In addition our department meetings this week focused on our upcoming professional development scheduled for January 30. Teachers are excited to have input on curriculum development and to begin planning the 2017-2018 school year!!!!

This week our Lakeside Family showed their love for Samara Somerville by wearing bows. Samara is a 6th grade student who underwent surgery, so we wanted to show her we care! Here are some pictures from the event:
