Lakeside Lightning Round - April 12 - 16, 2021

LMS knocked down their assignments in order to participate in Reward Week

Lakeside Lightning,

The School of Tomorrow, Today!

We hope that you thoroughly enjoyed your Spring Break! For the most part, the weather was excellent and there were lots of opportunities to get outside and enjoy it. We love the Spring Break at Lakeside, but more importantly we love getting back to school and can't wait to see everyone this week!

Prior the Spring Break, we spent two weeks allowing students to catch up on their work and rewarding those students who have been completing their work on time. Students and staff gave such positive reviews of the experience. There were other schools in the area that reached out about what we did at Lakeside and they are going to try something similar for their students! Although we will not be doing another Amnesty Week in the 4th marking period, we will be looking at opportunities for a Reward Week in the 4th marking period. Thank you again to all of the staff and students who participated in the Amnesty and Reward Week!

This week is our last week of Hybrid! We will be welcoming back some new faces to Lakeside as some students will be returning for the first time all year in person. We are looking forward to combining the Hybrid Cohorts for the week of April 19 and those students will be in school 4 days a week. This week we will be busy setting up the classrooms so that we can be prepared and safe for the combined cohorts on April 19.

Saturday Enrichment begins this April 17. Selected students will be participating in this with the hope of avoiding Summer School.

Again, we look for to seeing the Orange Cohort on Monday and Tuesday and the Blue Cohort on Thursday and Friday. Students will be all Virtual on Wednesday. The all Virtual students are required to attend all classes everyday.

Do you have a minute?

In this week's "Do you have a minute?" Dr. Cook attempts to get all the information about the school into a one minute video. Will he make the time limit? You need to watch to see....

Mrs. Wheaton's class get fossilized
To wrap up our science chapter on adaptations and evolution, Mrs. Wheaton's dad (an avid fossil hunter/collector) sent her class fossils from his collection for the kids to check out, and they loved it
Jeremias is a big Dino fan and happily took some photos to document his experience.
