Lakeside Lightning Round - November 15 - 19, 2021

LMS Choir Students Outside

Lakeside Lightning,

Grow through what you go through

Prior to the 5 days off we had for Veterans Day and Teachers Convention we were making significant progress with our initiative to curb physical aggression. Unfortunately we had a few incidents this week but they were handled with quickly and swiftly by our Vice Principals and with the help of the Millville PD.

We have noticed that breaks away from school for students cause shifts in behavior. This is why upon returning back to school after the Thanksgiving Break and Holiday Break (in January) we will be scheduling rallies for students to get re-acclimated to school. We really appreciate everyone's support this year as we go through these trying times. The community, BOE, parents and district administration have been extremely supportive to our staff and we are very grateful.

Official Congrats to Leigh Ann Upshaw for the “ That’s Pretty Cool” monthly department recognition from Beth DeForest

Daily Announcements

Sports

Basketball season is fast approaching and if you would like to play, please see Mr. Davis in M105 A to pick up a physical form needed to play. Please listen to the daily announcements for an upcoming informational meeting.

šŸ“£ Important News

⭐️ We will now be collecting names of students who forgot their masks. Once a student is identified more than 3 times without a mask, we will be calling home. If the problem persists, we will be implementing disciplinary measures.

After the Thanksgiving Break, we will be making some changes to the procedures at Lakeside Middle School. Below is a list of important changes and we are anticipating your support in getting the students back into more “normal” routines:

On November 29, 2021, all students will be required to place their bookbags, jackets and cell phones in their lockers. This will remain in effect for the rest of the school year.

Chromebook bags were distributed in the Spring and there are a limited amount of Chromebook bags available in the grade level offices

We recommend that students begin planning their day to ensure that they have enough time to get from one class to another which is why we let them know about this change on 11/8/21 over the announcements. Teachers have been allowing them to practice using their lockers as well.

Thank-o-Gram's

Show your friends and favorite staff members how THANKFUL you are for them with a Thank o Gram!  A message attached with a full size candy bar will be delivered to the person of your choice.

How does it work? During lunch you will be  able to purchase a Thank o Gram for $1 and add your message. Then, during homeroom your friend and/or staff member will receive their Thanks’-O-Grams on the day before Thanksgiving break. All proceeds help the sixth grade class.
