Lakeside Lightning Round - November 22 - 26, 2021

Mrs. Hardy coordinated child care for LMS Staff

Lakeside Lightning,

Grow through what you go through

This is a shortened week due to the Thanksgiving Break! We will be having an Early Dismissal on Wednesday. All students will be dismissed by 1:06 PM. We will have breakfast and lunches for the students.

This week the 6th graders participated in CAP sessions designed to help them understand bullying and child assault. Our school is providing CAP Training for Students to…

  • Prevent abuse and bullying
  • Be assertive without being aggressive
  • Learn self-protection strategies to keep them safe from sexual abuse, abduction and other potentially dangerous situations.

On behalf of the staff and administration, we want to wish everyone an amazing Thanksgiving and we hope you enjoy this break!

Mrs. Richardson's Class

Our class explored animation by exploring and creating Turkey Day Parades in Google Slides.  All students were able to create animation, and some went above and beyond the expectation.

Daily Announcements
Spring Musical
The moment you’ve been waiting for! The spring musical is The Little Mermaid! To audition for the show see Mrs. Andrews in the choir room for an audition packet!

Sports
Basketball season is fast approaching and if you would like to play, please see Mr. Davis in M105 A to pick up a physical form needed to play. Please listen to the daily announcements for an upcoming informational meeting.

Important News
We will now be collecting names of students who forgot their masks. Once a student is identified more than 3 times without a mask, we will be calling home. If the problem persists, we will be implementing disciplinary measures.

After the Thanksgiving Break, we will be making some changes to the procedures at Lakeside Middle School. Below is a list of important changes and we are anticipating your support in getting the students back into more “normal” routines:
  • On November 29, 2021, all students will be required to place their bookbags, jackets and cell phones in their lockers. This will remain in effect for the rest of the school year.
  • Chromebook bags were distributed in the Spring and there are a limited amount of Chromebook bags available in the grade level offices
  • We recommend that students begin planning their day to ensure that they have enough time to get from one class to another which is why we let them know about this change on 11/8/21 over the announcements. Teachers have been allowing them to practice using their lockers as well.
