Mrs. Murphy is retiring - Good Luck |
Lakeside Lightning, Grow through what you go through!
We want to thank everyone for their support this year. Many in education would say it was the most challenging year due to coming off a pandemic and interrupted learning over the past two years. Despite all of the challenges our students and teachers thrived and achieved so much. We met 2 of our 4 School Improvement Goals and increased our proficiency on each benchmark in Math and LAL. Our school was featured on GMA for their Mothers' Day Celebration. Millions of viewers watched as our own Ms. Biaselli received gifts and surprises from GMA. In addition, our school was recognized with an Honorable Mention in the School of Character application for National School of Character. Each day, our teachers and students worked collaboratively to bring back events such as the Semi, Step Up and even field trips. Our staff was recognized for the hard work with a very special Staff Appreciation Week by our PTO. These accomplishments are just a few highlights but there was so much more.
We are so proud of our Lakeside students. We wish the class of 2026 the best of luck as they begin their High School Career. We look forward to the new 6th grade class as they will enter a school that is once again back to the way things started in 1999... with teams! That's right each grade will have 4 teams and the students will be placed in those teams with the same teachers. There will be increased activities and opportunities due to the teams. In addition, our class sizes will be reduced and there will be more attention to the students. The future is bright!
Next year, Mrs. Gaunt will be the new Principal. We want to wish Dr. Cook much success as he moves to the RM Bacon to be the Principal of the Bears! On behalf of the entire staff at LMS, we wish you the best over summer break!
