Century 21 continues to amaze everyone

This week the students submitted blog posts for the Lightning Round. We are very proud of these students.

#STEMchallenges By JJ
Some things I like about 21st Century are that they take us kayaking and swimming in the water almost every week, and the aides are very relaxed. We get to go to the gym almost every day and there are a lot of fun things we get to try out. One of my favorite things we do is the STEM challenges. We are finished though, and my team won. #Animalblog  By: HelenaSo, yesterday (7-11-16) a woman came in with 4 bunnies and a rat. One was named Elsa; she was older and very shy. The next one was named Rex; he was a chocolate bunny and he was very cute. Jet, the bunny she brought out next, was Rex’s dad. He was fluffy and if you scratched his chin his ear would bend. Then the last bunny had a white body and brown spots with course but fine hair. I am not sure what her name was, but she liked being held. Last but not least, Felix the rat was shown. He was very shy and didn’t come out of his crate. She is planning to come back, and I can’t wait to see what she brings next.

#freetime By: JBI like when we have free time to go to the gym and play basketball with other classmates. Another fun activity is when we went to Union Lake and caught fish, canoed with two other classmates, and swam in a group with all of my friends.

#Stencilart By: AlexiYesterday, July 11th, a lady came in to teach us about stencil art. It was fun working with the different types of designs on a piece of paper.  It was neat how we smeared the paint over the design and it came out on the piece of cloth. Next time she comes, she is going to let us how to create our own design so we can stencil it on our piece of cloth.

Lakeside Lightning,

Turning Dreams into Reality!

Kindness Begins with YOU!
We hope that everyone had an enjoyable 4th of July holiday! This time of the year is important to appreciate the opportunities we have as Americans. The recent events that have made the news should cause us to further understand why we emphasize being safe, responsible and respectful. Those core expectations that guide us at Lakeside serve as an example for what we want to see in the world.

This week the maintenance staff were able to continue cleaning and preparing the school. Despite the heat and humidity, the crew are exceeding the expectations and working collaboratively to achieve their goals!

The students and teachers in the Century 21 program have been busy this summer. They are working on STEM projects as well as developing an appreciation for the great outdoors. For one of the writing activities, the students went outside and collected leaves and sticks that will assist them with their assignment with Mrs. Birnstiel. In Mrs. Henry's STEM class the students worked on making structures with marshmallows and spaghetti.

Lakeside Lightning,

Turning Dreams Into Reality!

Great job Millville Pride!
We just completed our second week of the summer break! Does it feel like we have been out of school for only two weeks?

The maintenance department has been doing an amazing job of preparing the classrooms for the fall. Each room is being cleaned from floor to ceiling with every desk, cabinet, chair and anything else being completely sanitized.

The secretaries and administration have been working on streamlining Back to School forms and processes to make things easier for parents, students, and teachers! We are also busy planning the inaugural 6th Grade Boot Camp for August 8, 9. Stay tuned for more details.

Congratulations to our Millville Pride Soccer Team

The Millville Pride Soccer Team over the weekend of May 22, 2016 won first place in their division for the second straight season Fall 2015 and Spring 2016.

They are the South Jersey Girls Soccer League Premier Flight 1 Champions. These young ladies represent Millville and Lakeside with Pride!

Congratulations to the following Pride Soccer Team: Trista Cleaves, Olivia Giordano, Julianna Giordano, Sa'naa Doss, Mary Greco, Joya Cisco, Jayme Sooy and Gabby Akiatan.
