The World is Yours: Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities

We had a scary good week at LMS. We know students enjoyed their Halloween activities throughout the city over the weekend and into Tuesday. Some teachers got into the spirit on Tuesday and they dressed up to scare the kids into learning! Our PBSIS team was busy on Tuesday as they had hot/cold cider for students who earned enough Zaps to participate.

Throughout last week our administrators went to CPR training in order to assist with any emergencies that may occur in the school. We host Edmentum for a refresher training on the program as we look to expand our offerings to the students. We are also preparing for a new set of students that will begin in the second marking period.

This week is shortened due to the New Jersey Education Association's annual conference. On Thursday and Friday our staff will be participating in workshops, visiting vendors and always seeking ways to improve their teaching. There will be no school on Thursday and Friday.

We are looking forward to the All School Assembly on Wednesday to honor our Veterans. LMS will be hosting Veterans from around the south Jersey area with a luncheon. They will be joined by local dignitaries. This will be a great time for our school!

Box Tops for Education
It's that time of year to collect box tops.   The more you collect the better chance your homeroom has of winning a great prize like Tasty Donuts, Hot Soft Pretzels or a sweet Treat!  The 3 homerooms with the most box tops will be the winners.  So please encourage your students to get those box tops in by November 6th.  If you have a homeroom Mrs. Powell placed an envelope in your mailbox so that collecting them is easy.  All you have to do is place any collection sheets, individual box tops, or bags of box tops in the envelope.  Mrs. Powell will do all of the counting, cutting, and anything else that is needed to be done. She will also be around sometime during the day on the 6th to collect your envelopes.  Thank you for all of your assistance in this fundraiser.

7th Grade Students of the Month
The 7th grade students of the month for November are : Caleb Duffy (Language Arts),  Angel Sanchez Dent (Math), Jazmin Baldwin (Social Studies), and Allison Barber (Science).
These students model Lakeside's core values:  Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be a Good Learner. Congratulations!

Would you dare look at Mrs. Roche's hair?

It's that time of year to collect all of your box tops from your favorite brands like Progresso, Pillsbury, Nature Valley, General Mills and many more.  When you see the Box Tops emblem cut it off and either place it on your collection sheet or in a baggie and bring them in to your homeroom teacher to support your school.  The more you collect the better chance your homeroom has of winning a great prize like Tasty Donuts, Hot Soft Pretzels or a sweet Treat!  The 3 homerooms with the most box tops will be the winners.  So get those box tops in by November 6th.

Any Student interested in Running the Jolly Holly 5k and 1 mile fun Run before the Millville Christmas parade, please see your PE teacher for a form.  All forms must be handed in to Coach Camerieri.

Is Phys. Ed. one of your favorite classes?  Do you like to play games & sports with your friends?  If so, you may be interested in joining the Phys. Ed. Club held after school in the main gym.  See Coach Abel for more information and a permission slip.
