The World is Yours: Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities

We hope that everyone is enjoying this unseasonably warm and extended weekend! This week we will be preparing for the mid marking period. In many ways, time has been going by very fast. Be sure to check out the daily announcements in this blog post because a lot of the after school clubs and activities are beginning.

The Gifted and Talented students got the opportunity to visit the Renaissance Fair. This annual trip exposes the students to the Medieval era and allows them to participate in living history lessons.  We had two students who were crowned the Lord and Lady. A big thank you goes out to the Gifted and Talented teacher/adviser Mrs. Gaudio!

Enjoy the day off on Monday and we will see everyone on Tuesday!

September PBSIS Data - After our first month of school, we wanted to share the amazing gains our students have displayed in terms of Major Office Referrals. Keep up the great work and remember to be safe, responsible, respectful and good learners!
Our average Major Office Discipline Referrals are down from this point last year

Calling all cheerleaders. Do you want to join the Lakeside cheer club? Come see Mrs. Stroup in G210 for more information and to pick up your physical forms. The first meeting will be on October 24th.

Any students who have signed up for Intramural Mat Ball have to check the sign up list down by the Auxiliary Gym to see if they are eligible to play. Students with “cleared” next to their name can participate. Any questions please see Coach Camerieri or Coach Wittman. Mat Ball begins October 10th.

It is now time to start selling for our schoolwide fundraiser! We are selling Otis Spunkmeyer and Cherrydale products from now until October 20th. Our top seller is going to win $100! Someone else is going to win a crisp $50 bill! There are a lot of prizes up for grabs and fundraising helps us have fun activities throughout the year!

Do you want to help the victims of the hurricanes, but don't know how?  Do you have a quarter?  All it takes is one quarter, just 25 cents, to buy a red, white and blue bracelet to support the hurricane relief.  Stop by Mrs. Sooy's room, M133, to buy a bracelet or look for students selling them during lunches during the month of October.  That quarter will go a long way in helping those trying to rebuild their lives after the hurricane.

Lakeside Middle School JYC/Bible Club will be starting on Thursday, October 12! We will meet every Thursday in Room B133 until 4:15pm.  Advisors will be Mrs. Schwegel and Mr. Gardenhire.  If interested in joining Permission slips are in the grade offices.

Thank you and our Spooky October joke is Who won the skeleton beauty contest? No Body. Have a fabulous week!!
