Congratulations to Small Town Stix for winning the championship
Lakeside Lightning,
Grow through what you go through
There has been a remarkable transformation in our school climate and culture. Since implementing a new policy to curb school violence (any physical altercation will be referred to Police Charges and possible change in placement) we have seen a drastic decline in physical altercations. In fact, we didn't have any incidents this past week (5 days in a row).
When asked about this, Dr. Cook, the Lakeside Principal said, "We have been in a pandemic trying to educate children who for past two years have had a very little time in school. In my conversations with Principals across the nation, everyone has been having their most challenging school year. Once we can establish safety, then we will be able to create the learning environment we seek. We have so many good kids and excellent teachers and they were all fed up with the way that a small group of students were choosing to resolve their issues."
In addition, we had a very successful Spirt Week. There will be plenty of pictures in this week's Lighting Round under the Pictures from Around the School Section.
This week we are only in school on Monday and Tuesday. We are off on Wednesday for Veterans Day and Thursday and Friday for the NJEA Conference.
Millville High School Wins Tournament of the Bands
Last week, the Millville High School Marching Band won Region 1 with a score of 91.24. This is a record score for Millville High School Marching Band. We have 4 Lakeside Students who are members of the Marching Band. Go Bolts and Go Lightning!
