October 10 - 14, 2016

Lakeside Lightning,

Turning Dreams Into Reality

The Front Door Project
We hope you all enjoyed the 4 day weekend. On Friday we had our first Staff In-service. During the day, we learned about Professional Learning Communities (PLCS), had our first AVID EdCamp and ended the day with a Learning Smackdown! Teachers felt confident in their learning and ability to apply that learning to enhance the classroom for students!

We want to thank everyone who came out to our Annual Back to School Night on October 5th. Those parents and guardians got the opportunity to meet the teachers and see how the administration performed on the Morning Announcements! If you missed it, be sure to email your child's guidance counselor or teacher.

Mr. Williams and Mrs. Diaz were twinning
We will be hosting the RAC for their annual walkthrough of the classrooms on Tuesday morning. The RAC will be providing feedback on our learning environment. We are always pleased to have the RAC in our building as they provide an additional level of support!

This week we have a lot in store for the students. On Monday and Tuesday the 6th graders will continue learning Tae Kwon Do from Master Jung. The students have really enjoyed this experience (even though they had to take their shoes and socks off). All students have been very respectful and willing to try something new.

On Thursday Mrs. Lokuta's first period AVID students will tour the Millville Neighborhood Alliance around the school to showcase all of our awesome teachers and classrooms!
