GT Students at the Renaissance Fair

We have some awesome news to share! Lakeside Middle School won a 10,000 dollar grant from the Skeeter Rabbit Foundation for 3D glasses and educational material!

This award would not have been possible without Larry Perry and his foresight into always keeping LMS on the cutting edge of technology! In addition, this is the very first Skeeter Rabbit-and that is quite a distinction.

As far as we are aware, there are no other units in the state of New Jersey!

The gift includes:

• 3D Moble  System
 encased in a Steel, powder coated, scratch resistant cart 36"x 19" x24" 
• 2 locking storage drawers
• 
mixer amplifier with 3 speakers

• adjustable projector shelf

• 3D computer with content loaded

• 3000 lumens 3D DLP Short throw projector
• retractable power cord

• 30 pairs of 3D active DLP link glasses

How will this impact our Curriculum?

• CYBERSCIENCE 3D CONTENT SVS-CS3D (Perpetual) -400+ interactive objects
• Eureka.in by Designmate Universal 1yr License 2016 version 1733 topics
• TRAINING SESSION-Webinar Session (one hour)

Lightning Strikes Bogart's 

This grant will revolutionize how we teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) at Lakeside. Mr. Perry is also filming various aspects of the school in 3D for an upcoming 3D video of our school!

The Millville Neighborhood Alliance had their second meeting with our students this past week. Our students conducted a tour of Lakeside and talked about the importance of taking CORNELL notes, studying, and working cooperatively. 

We held our second Lightning Strikes Bogart's event on Saturday. Students were treated to hot chocolate and treats as they read their campfire stories. Thanks to Mrs. Cuesta, Mr. Kavanugh, Mrs. Flickinger, Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Gandy for attending. 

We held our 3rd Front Door Project on Saturday. Mrs. Bergman and her crew transformed another door in the city and even got a surprise visit from one of our alumni!

Want $50 cash? Well, there’s only one more week to sell for our official fall fundraiser and have a chance at winning. The more we sell, the bigger and better the prizes will be, so start selling! (Checks can be made out to Lakeside Middle School)

It's Box Tops Time!  It's time to tell mom, dad, grandmom, grandpop, and everyone else to start collecting box tops for you.  From October 4th to October 28th bring in your box tops to your homeroom teacher.  The more the better because your homeroom will have a chance to win great prizes.  The 3 homerooms with the most box tops collected will be the lucky winners.  So start clipping box tops because every clip counts!

Lakeside’s NJHS will be participating in “A Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 22, 2016.  Please support our team by purchasing a bracelet for $2, a flower message for $1, or make a coin donation.  Members will be available during homeroom and lunch daily.  Thank you for supporting such a worthwhile charity.
