It's All About Respect at LMS!

Thank you for taking the time to read the Lakeside Lightning Round. We are very grateful for the ongoing support. Our blog has had over 132,000 unique visitors and averages over 300 views each post! We are very excited for this week's Haunted Hallways on Thursday, October 24 from 6:00-8:00 . The theme this is Where the Wild Things Are. Students of all ages are invited to enjoy a night filled with frights and a bag full of delights!! **Please bring a bag or sack for your treats. Line will be cut off at 7:30** All kids must be with an adult Come dressed as your favorite character!! NO WEAPONS, MASKS, OR HOODS Roam our halls after hours and see what really happens when the students leave AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT! Admission is $2 per person.

Reminder - Friday, October 25, 2019 is an Early Dismissal. We dismiss at 1:10 PM. 

Daily Announcements 
Do you know what happens at Lakeside when the lights go out?  Come find out where the wild things are on October 24 from 6-8 pm.  Admission is $2 per person.  Costumes are permitted, however, NO MASKS, HOODS, or WEAPONS will be allowed in to the event.  Bring your friends and family for a night of treats and shrieks at Lakeside Middle School.  Don't miss out!! 

October 23 is Unity Day, and we're asking that you join us in wearing orange that day to show your support in the National Bullying Prevention Month movement. By wearing and sharing the color orange, we can be united in kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

German Exchange Students Visit Lakeside Middle School  on October 31
On October 31st,  LMS will be hosting German exchange students from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM in the DMC. 8th Grade students are encouraged to sign up for a time to learn about the German culture as well as the German World Language Program at the High School. Sessions are limited to 25 students and all students will receive a pass in homeroom with their specific times. You must sign up using the Google Form to be eligible to participate. This is only open to 8th grade students. (Sign up using this link https://tinyurl.com/GermanLMS2019)

Trying to figure out What's Next in your life?  Do I go to college? What do I want to do when I grow up?  What's Next in my life?  If you are looking to figure out What's Next, come be a part of the What's Next club where we will discuss all those things and more.  Get a permission slip from Mrs. Sooy in M133.  The first meeting is on Thursday, October 31st from 3:20 to 4:20. 

Are you a writer? Bring your stories or poems to Mrs. Haughey in Y100 to be published in the NEW LMS literary magazine Lakeside Lightning Literary. We will also be accepting drawings and photos. We can hardly wait to see your work!

Dr. Cook, along with Dr. Schneider and Dr. Moore, met with the Commissioner and his team to discuss the progress of our school. Dr. Repollet was very impressed with LMS. During his tour he met with staff and students.
